TODAY was Haniza Mohamed Talha’s last day of service as the Selangor Housing and Urban Living Committee chairman, Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said.
This follows the Lembah Jaya assemblyman’s expulsion from PKR last month.
“The state executive council in a meeting on Wednesday discussed her expulsion from PKR and the termination of her service (as state exco member) is also in line with the party decision,” Amirudin said in a statement today.
“Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah gave his consent to the matter yesterday in an audience.”
Amirudin said for now, he would be taking over Haniza’s portfolio and that all projects and activities planned by the former exco were postponed until further notice.
He said the state government thanked Haniza for her service and contribution.
On June 29, PKR, on the recommendation of its disciplinary board, sacked five members including Haniza, who was the PKR women’s wing chief.
Haniza had her membership suspended on April 6 over her links with defectors Mohamed Azmin Ali and Zuraida Kamarudin. – Bernama, July 10, 2020.
