THE People’s Action Party (PAP) has fielded six new Malay candidates, joining its eight seniors, in tomorrow’s Singaporean general election.

The youngest is 30-year-old Nadia Ahmad Samdin.

She is in PAP secretary-general Lee Hsien Loong’s team, which is defending the Ang Mo Kio group representation constituency (GRC).

The six fresh faces are contesting in GRCs instead of single-member constituencies.

Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim has been fielded in Chua Chu Kang, Wan Rizal Wan Zakariah (Jalan Besar), Mohd Fahmi Aliman (Marine Parade), Sharael Taha (Pasir Ris-Punggol) and Mariam Jaafar (Sembawang).

Wan Rizal takes the place of Jalan Besar lawmaker Yaacob Ibrahim, who has called it a day after 23 years in politics. – Bernama, July 9, 2020.
