PAKATAN Harapan chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad is willing to declare his assets if he is to contest in the 14th general election.

“Yes, I can declare my assets but I don’t know whether I’m going to be a candidate or not,” he told reporters after a meeting with PH leaders at Parliament today.

He was asked to respond to PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli’s statement today that 30 potential candidates from PH, including some incumbents, are expected to declare their assets on Sunday.

The Bersatu chairman and former prime minister, however, said the PH presidential council has not discussed whether all their candidates have to declare their assets before the elections.

“We have our own strategies and we will follow that. In Pakatan Harapan, the final decision-making is by the presidential council.

“So, until this thing is taken up I’m not at liberty to make any statement.”

Earlier today, Rafizi, who is Invoke Malaysia founder, said that 30 prospective PH candidates will declare their assets at Summit USJ on Sunday.

The event is part of a fund-raiser for Invoke.

Invoke has been helping these 30 possible candidates map out election strategies and conduct surveys for their constituencies.

“The prospective candidates will also sign a pledge to work for the rakyat, including paying into an RM20 million trust fund for the public if they were to defect (after being elected),” said the Pandan MP in a statement today.

Invoke aims to raise another RM5 million from the public to help 53 candidates during GE14. – November 15, 2017.
