Chairman of Education Ministry-owned firm to face graft charges


The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission is taking the chairman of an Education Ministry-owned firm to court tomorrow to face corruption charges. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, January 12, 2020.

EDUCATION Malaysia Global Service (EMGS) chairman, Abdul Rahman Mohamed Shariff will face three corruption charges in court tomorrow.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in a statement however did not provide details of the charges.

“All details will be provided during proceedings tomorrow,” MACC said.

The case will be heard at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court at 9am.

EMGS is a wholly-owned Education Ministry’s company. EMGS is tasked with the management and processing of student visas for international students, including ensuring health insurance coverage for foreign students. – January 12, 2020.
