A DISAPPOINTED Ambiga Sreenevasan today told Putrajaya to stop holding detainees allegedly linked to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act (Sosma), a law it was once against.

“I am quite shocked that this was the government that stood against Sosma. Please, before Deepavali, either charge them or release them. Stop holding them under Sosma,” she said.

Ambiga expressed her disappointment on the Pakatan Harapan government for continuing to use Sosma, the Sedition Act and the Printing Presses and Publications Act.

“I have a huge disappointment with the present government. Why are they using Sosma?

“Why do they continue to use the Sedition Act? Why do we continue to have licensing under the Printing Presses and Publications Act,” she said at the Perdana Forum: Whither Maruah Malaysia 2.0 today.
