KELANTAN Pakatan Harapan said Budget 2020 will restore the people’s confidence in the government’s ability to manage the economy.

Chairman Husam Musa said previously, some people were pessimistic about PH’s economic position and ability due to problems inherited from the previous administration.

“However, with this budget, I believe the people can see that the PH government has laid out the groundwork for economic growth for years to come.

“Overall, I see this budget as being able to restore the people’s confidence, and they are beginning to believe that the PH government can grow the economy,” he told reporters at an agricultural programme in Bachok today.

Budget 2020, tabled by Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng in Parliament yesterday, sees the government allocating a total expenditure of RM297 billion, excluding a RM2 billion contingency reserve.

Lim said the sum is an increase of RM19.5 billion from the previous budget’s RM277.5 billion, excluding the one-off allocation for outstanding goods and services tax and income tax refunds.

Husam, who is also Kemubu Agricultural Development Authority (Kada) chairman, said the agency received its requested allocation.

He said it is hoped that the funds will help expand the non-padi sector and generate income for farmers in the Kada zone. – Bernama, October 12, 2019.
