FORMER deputy minister Ahmad Maslan denies that he received any money from 1Malaysia Development Bhd.

“I have told the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the police that I have never received a cheque for the amount shown to me,” said the Pontian MP in Parliament lobby today.

He said that he was investigated by MACC and the police had shown a copy of the cheque allegedly given to him.

“I have also signed documents with MACC and the police to say that I did not receive the money as alleged.”

He said he will be consulting his lawyers on what to do next.

Ahmad was deputy minister of international trade (2015-2018), finance (2013-2015) and in the Prime Minister’s Department (2009-2013).

In 2015, whistleblower website Sarawak Report alleged that three MPs had received money from former prime minister Najib Razak’s private account.

Among the MPs named were former Johor Baru MP Shahrir Samad and Ahmad. Shahrir was alleged to have received RM1 million while Ahmad was alleged to have been given RM2 million.

Today, MACC issued 80 compound notes to nine individuals, including Ahmad, and 71 companies to recover RM420 million belonging to 1MDB. – October 7, 2019.

  • Mad I think what you wanted to say is that you refuse to admit the funds received were from 1MDB but was received from Najib hence thinking it was the party funds. Of course there isnt a cheque that matches the said amount involved per say but the money trails established has made its dots connection to you thus be mindful of what you are saying. It goes without saying at this point of time everyone would want to deny they received 1MDB funds to start with just your bossku denying to the nation that he knew Jho Low. Now everything is in the open so take queue from his trials and be a little bit smarter.
