A THAI judge shot himself while a trial was in progress in Yala province today.

In the 12.30pm incident, the Yala court judge used a personal pistol to fire at his chest during the trial of five members of an armed group.

Muang Yala district police chief Narawi Waearong, who confirmed the incident, said the victim was rushed to Yala Hospital and was said to be in critical condition.

“The cause of the incident is being investigated on whether it was due to a personal problem or pressure from a court case,” he said. – Bernama, October 4, 2019.
