Police in house-to-house search for missing teenager

THE police have gone knocking on the front doors of at least 30 houses in Kg Pantai, Seremban, thus far as the search for missing Irish teenager Nora Quoirin spans eight days, Negri Sembilan deputy police chief Mohamad Mat Yusop said today.

He added these houses were in the villages surrounding The Dusun resort, where 15-year-old Nora was last seen.

The police have also extended their search to other resorts and villas in the area.

“We have gone to more than 30 houses and yes, we have also spoken to every single villa in the area,” he told reporters at Pantai police station.

Mohamad also said the police are encouraging hikers to roam the popular rainforest trekking spot, because there are chances of them chancing upon Nora.

He added police are investigating a claim by a local to have heard unusual truck sounds at 3am on the day Nora went missing.

“This is the first information, we need to investigate further,” he said.

Earlier today Deputy Inspector-General of Police Mazlan Mansor paid a visit to Nora’s parents, Sebastian and Meabh Quoirin, at The Dusun Resort.

A hotline for the search and rescue operation was also launched today.

Anyone with information can contact the police on: 011-1228-5058.

Nora disappeared without a trace on Sunday, August 4, from her room at the Dusun Pantai Hill eco-resort, near Seremban, after arriving for a two-week holiday with her parents and two siblings the previous day.

Police said she left her villa clad only in her undergarments and no one has seen her since. – August 11, 2019.
