Police get report on authenticity of sex videos

POLICE have received a report from CyberSecurity Malaysia tasked with verifying the authenticity of a series of sex videos implicating a cabinet member.

The findings will not be made known for now, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Commissioner Huzir Mohamed said today

“A report on the investigation into the videos will be submitted to the Attorney-General’s Chambers for further action, he told reporters after an event in Nu Sentral, Kuala Lumpur, today.

He said police are still investigating the case and have half a dozen suspects in remand.

Former Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz, who alleged he and Mohamed Azmin Ali were the two men in the videos, are among those in custody. Azmin has denied it is him.

The six men who were arrested on Sunday are under investigation for distributing pornographyunder the Communications and Multimedia Act for distributing pornographic material.

Earlier today, Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador said police did not rule out the possibility of an influential person being behind the leaking of the sex videos.

He said the suspects currently in remand could have been taking orders from someone powerful.  – July 16, 2019.
