Cops nab 2 siblings after raid on suspected drug lab

POLICE arrested two sibling after raiding a house believed to have been turned into a drug laboratory in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, and seized an assortment of drugs worth RM769,250.

Penang acting police chief Roslee Chik said police raided the house in Taman Seri Rambai around 5.30pm on Thursday after a month of surveillance.

He said a woman aged 44 and her family were staying there.

Roslee said police detained the woman, but did not find any drugs in the house. However, they did find a remote control for a gate and keys to another house about 500m away.

“Investigations revealed that the house had been used as a laboratory to process ecstasy drugs in the past four months,” he said today.

Roslee said police nabbed the woman’s brother aged 46 at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 5.15am the following day, Friday, when he tried to escape to Miri after finding out about the raid. – Bernama, September 25, 2017.
