PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan has called for those with information of the party receiving RM90 million from 1Malaysia Development Bhd funds to come forward with the details.
“We welcome and urge anyone who has such information to act responsibly and with integrity to reveal in detail all that they have to the authorities,” he said in a statement.
He said the party would cooperate fully with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) which is investigating the claims that PAS had received the money from the previous Barisan Nasional government.
Denying again that the party had received the money, Takiyuddin also said PAS would hand over all relevant documents, including bank account statements, to MACC if asked for.
“This is to prove that the accusations made against PAS are just lies,” he said.
Yesterday, MACC confirmed that a police report pertaining to the matter was forwarded to them for action.
Meanwhile, PAS vice-president Idris Ahmad said PAS welcomes the MACC investigation as it is the best avenue to help clear the air once and for all.
“We are open to an investigation by the authorities. We have nothing to hide.
“We are ready to show our party accounts (to MACC) any time. We are willing to be investigated or grilled for hours.
“Even if we were to be questioned for 25 hours straight, we are not going to kick a fuss,” he was reported as saying. – February 7, 2019.
