THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has confirmed receiving a report on the RM90 million allegedly given to PAS by Umno.

The agency, in a statement today, said a police report was lodged on the matter, and the report was subsequently forwarded to MACC.

Investigations will be carried out according to the law and the powers granted to MACC, said the statement.

It was earlier reported that an MACC source said several individuals will be called up to facilitate the probe, under the MACC Act 2009 and Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.

Whistle-blower site Sarawak Report, in a 2016 article, claimed that Umno paid RM90 million to PAS leaders to secure their support for the then ruling Barisan Nasional coalition, and that the money was from 1Malaysia Development Bhd. – Bernama, February 6, 2019.
