Don’t blame me for Phee’s arrest, says PKR rep

PKR’s Penanti assemblyman, Dr Norlela Ariffin, is disappointed that she is being blamed for the arrest of Penang state executive councillor Phee Boon Poh of DAP, the Star reported today.

Dr Norlela is now seen as the cause for Phee’s arrest over her efforts to close down an illegal carbon filter factory in Sungai Lembu, Bukit Mertajam.

“Everybody is scolding me. I feel so down,” she said.

Dr Norlela said she was also accused of raising the issue at a time when a general election was due soon, stating she had raised the issue after many villagers had complained about the factory.

“I’m not the criminal,” she said yesterday.

“I’m glad that action has finally been taken, but don’t treat me like a criminal. To me, the issue of the factory operating illegally for the past 10 years is serious. I raised the issue at the state assembly after visiting the factory in 2015, but no action was taken,” she said. – August 13, 2017.

  • Dr Dedak - another Trojan strikes. Surely as a member of Harapan she knows the exact situation. Can't hide. Time will tell.

    • ...or an Azmin supporter. Azmin, being PAS's stooge, will always try to create trouble for DAP and Amanah. Remember the troublesome "PKR 5" of Penang not so long ago?
