THE number of flood victims in Johor and Pahang increased slightly to 5,755 people at 44 relief centres as at 6am today, compared with 5,749 people at 41 centres last night.
IN JOHOR, 3,773 victims were at 24 relief centres in Kota Tinggi, with 620 at four centres in Mersing, 350 at three centres in Segamat, 70 at one centre in Batu Pahat and 80 at one centre in Johor Baru.
IN PAHANG, 15 victims were at one centre in Maran and 188 were at four centres in Rompin.
Several rivers were at danger level, including Sungai Endau in Johor, Sungai Rompin in Pahang, and Sungai Arau in Perlis.
Fifty-six roads have been closed due to floods, damaged bridges and landslides. Among them were Jalan Johor Baru-Endau in Johor, Trolak Selatan in Perak and Jalan Kuala Mentiga-Terapai in Pahang. – Bernama, January 13, 2024.
