2,932 new Covid-19 cases, 3 deaths

MALAYSIA recorded 2,932 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, an increase of 1,014 infections from a day earlier. 

According to the CovidNow website, the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic stood at 4,578,741 cases. 

Selangor posted the highest number of infections yesterday with 959 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (947) and Perak (194).

Negri Sembilan logged 176 new cases, Sabah (143), Penang (107), Kedah (67), Putrajaya (61), Johor (57), Sarawak (54), Pahang (51), Malacca (42), Kelantan (30), Terengganu (18), Labuan (16) and Perlis (10).

The Health Ministry also reported three Covid-19 deaths yesterday with one case classified as dead on arrival. 

Two fatalities were reported in Selangor and one in Pahang, bringing the death toll to 35,787. 

The number of Covid-19 patients in the intensive care unit stood at 42, of which 25 required respiratory support. – July 6, 2022.
