MALAYSIA reported 2,003 new Covid-19 infections yesterday, a decrease from 2,302 cases the previous day.

The CovidNow website showed that there was only one virus-related death in Penang.

The new cases bring the total number of infections since the start of the pandemic to 4,556,664.

Active cases now stand at 28,151, while 35,746 have died.

Selangor logged the highest number of infections with 690 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (517) and Penang (179).

Sabah reported 113 cases, Perak (101), Negri Sembilan (87), Johor (72), Malacca (56), Putrajaya (49), Sarawak (41), Kedah (38), Pahang (20), Terengganu (17), Kelantan (14), Perlis (7) and Labuan (2).

There are currently 1,082 Covid-19 hospitalisations with 12 people in the intensive care unit, while 19 are on ventilators. – June 27, 2022.
