PRIME Minister Najib Razak wants the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the issue of ownership of four parcels of Felda land in Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur, that were transferred to a private company in an allegedly dubious deal.
In a series of posts on Twitter, Najib said action would be taken if any negligence or misconduct was found, based on the investigation report.
“
He advised Felda to take action to protect its interests.
“We must always protect the interests of Felda and the settlers in all development efforts.”
Felda chairman Shahrir Abdul Samad yesterday said it was ready to take action to regain its rights to the land, estimated to be worth RM270 million, following a report that raised questions about the transfer of ownership.
A police report was lodged on December 12 and a caveat was placed on the parcels of land, besides the cancellation of the power of attorney issued.
Shahrir said Felda planned to take civil action against the parties involved. – Bernama, December 22, 2017.
