Sg Kandis rep dies of cancer

SELANGOR assemblyman for Sg Kandis Shuhaimie Shafiei died from lymphoma cancer, according to a tweet by Bukit Melawati assemblyman Juwairiya Zulkifli at 11.10am.

“Please be informed that YB @ShuhaimiShafiei has just died from stage 4 lymphoma cancer at the Subang Jaya medical centre,” said Juwairiya.

Meanwhile, Economic Affairs Minister and former Selangor menteri besar Azmin Ali also tweeted his condolences.

“It’s very sad to lose a true compatriot in our struggle,” Azmin tweeted.

In the last elections, Shuhaimie (23,998) defeated Barisan Nasional’s Kamaruzzaman Johari (11,518) and PAS’ Mohd Yusof Abdullah (7,573) by 12,480 votes.

The 50-year-old three-term assemblyman was formerly the Sri Muda lawmaker from 2008-2018 and served as Azmin’s political secretary. 

His last public appearance was at the new Selangor Menteri Besar Amiruddin Shaari’s swearing-in ceremony on June 19. 

He leaves a wife and four children. Shuhaimie was from Perak.  – July 2, 2018.

  • There is no such redundancy as Lymphoma cancer, because lymphoma is already a cancer. It cannot be cancer cancer.
