INTERSTATE travel will be allowed for all areas in the country except for those that are under the enhanced movement-control order (EMCO), said Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The senior minister said Malaysians don’t have to get police approval to travel to other states.

“From December 7, there will no more police road blocks. Even though there are no roadblocks, the police will continue to ensure that the standard operating procedures are followed,” he said at a press conference in Putrajaya today.

Ismail Sabri also said that they won’t be limiting the capacity of passengers for all vehicles.

“If a vehicle capacity is four people, then four people can travel in the vehicle. If an MPV can carry seven people, then they are all allowed to travel.”

Ismail Sabri also said individuals will be allowed into Sabah for social purposes.

“Foreigners who do not have long-term immigration passports must obtain special approval from the Sabah government.

“All individuals who enter Sabah through air, sea and land must get tested three days before travel.

“Only individuals who do not have symptoms with negative test results will be allowed to enter Sabah.”

He also added that permission from police for movement out of Sabah and across districts is not required. – December 5, 2020.

  • Why are they doing this when we still have triple digit infections everywhere? Has our government given up? Are they letting herd immunity to take over?
