FINANCE Minister Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz will meet Pakatan Harapan (PH) lawmakers tomorrow to discuss Budget 2021, which will be tabled the Dewan Rakyat this Friday, said leaders of the opposition bloc.

PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail confirmed his party has accepted the invitation, which was sent to party president Anwar Ibrahim.

He said Anwar will pick four leaders to represent the party.

“The Finance Ministry sent a letter to the PKR president to invite him to the budget consultation tomorrow. PKR was asked to send only four representatives,” Saifuddin Nasution told The Malaysian Insight.

It was understood that DAP and Amanah will each be represented by three leaders, making it a total of 10 lawmakers who will represent Pakatan Harapan (PH).

It was also learnt that Zafrul held talks with Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and Penampang MP Darell Leiking yesterday.

“This session is part of the Finance Ministry’s efforts in formulating Budget 2021, which will focus on the wellbeing of the people, business continuity and economic resilience in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Last Tuesday, the PH presidential council decided that Putrajaya should consult with them before tabling Budget 2021 on November 6. – October 31, 2020.
