Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said this was decided at a special meeting by the state security committee and the state’s Covid-19 task force, which held an online meeting today.

Beginning Sunday, Selangor will also provide free Covid-19 screening for its residents with a travel history to Sabah from September 20 to 26.

“This screening can be done at all branches of the Selcare Clinic, which is owned by state-owned company, Selgate Healthcare Sdn Bhd.”

Amirudin said a person wanting to take a Covid-19 test at these clinics will need to show proof of residence in Selangor, such as utility bills.

Other measures include extending operating times of the state’s Covid-19 operations room in Shah Alam, until 7pm.

Measures are also being taken reduce overcrowding at immigration detention centres within Selangor, with the setting up of temporary facilities to accommodate detainees and prevent overcrowding at centres.

Large gatherings, while allowed to a maximum of 250 people, must continue to observe physical distancing and other standard operating procedures, Amirudin said.

However, he said the state would discourage such gatherings in the first place.

Selangor today recorded 31 new cases and two new clusters, Seri Setia and Seri Anggerik.

The state also has five yellow zones – Hulu Langat, Petaling, Klang, Kuala Langat, and Hulu Selangor. – October 2, 2020.
