ZURAIDA Kamaruddin today said she’s not aware of the two contracts worth RM170 million awarded through direct negotiations by the Local Government and Housing Ministry during the Pakatan Harapan administration.
She was the minister then.
The ministry, which she continues to helm under Perikatan Nasional, will investigate the matter, she said.
“I would like to stress that the two projects were approved without my knowledge although I was the minister in charge at that time.
“The ministry will investigate this matter,” she said in a statement today.
On Tuesday, Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz revealed in the Dewan Rakyat that PH approved 101 projects worth RM6.61 billion to various companies through direct negotiations in the 22 months that it was in power.
