PERKASA will not keep quiet and will run amok all over the country if the Malays continue to be stepped on, its president Ibrahim Ali warned today.
Speaking at the right wing Malay group’s rally, Ibrahim said it was time for the Malays to rise up.
He said Perkasa will be touring the country to uphold Islam and Malay supremacy.
“It is time for us to be patriotic. Don’t be the only race that abides by the law while others do whatever they want,” he said during the Himpunan Jihad Perkasa in Kampung Baru today.
After his speech, Ibrahim clarified that the word “amok” was not referring to any extreme measures, but reiterated that the Malays would retaliate if the non-Malays went overboard.
He also defended the use of the word “jihad” in the group’s ninth annual general meeting slogan this afternoon.
“What is wrong with the word ‘jihad’? It is an Arabic word. It means struggle. There is nothing wrong with it. Same goes to the word ‘mengamuk’.
“I am from Kelantan and we often use this word. It means we will not keep quiet. We will protest. We will send memoranda. Just don’t push us to the wall. We will retaliate.
“Do not make us lose our minds. Do not make us lose our patience and do not make us run amok,” he said.
Yesterday, Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin urged those attending the rally against the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination on December 8 to respect the law and not speak provocatively in their speeches.
“I would like remind the organisers and the participants to remain peaceful and abide by the law at all times,” Muhyiddin said.
“Do not disrupt public order or use provocative statements that could stir up religious or racial tension in the country.”
He said police will be watching the gathering closely to avoid any untoward incidents.
Muhyiddin said Perkasa should be responsible, given the riots at the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Subang Jaya that saw 48 people arrested.
“We just had a riot that caused tension in the nation. It is our responsibility to make sure such incidents do not recur. I believe that Perkasa as a group understands the rule of law,” the home minister said.
Last Monday, a riot broke out at the Sri Maha Mariamman temple, which saw several people injured and vehicles torched. – December 2, 2018.

1. GE12 he won on PAS ticket
2. GE 13 he lost as independent
3. Ge 14 he lost deposit
4. After GE 14 he announced resigning from Perkasa, but now still remains Perkasa head
Ignore him or always refer to him as a flopped/expired politician
Ibrahim Ali as a human being?, the discerning reader can decide.....
