ROSMAH Mansor will only know how many charges she faces and their nature tomorrow, said her lawyer, K. Kumarendran, as rumours swirled this evening she could be hit with up to 20 charges.
“We have not been informed how many charges. And we have not been informed the nature of the charges. We will only know tomorrow in court,” said Kumaraendran at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters in Putrajaya after his client’s arrest.
He said he was unaware if the charges were related to 1Malaysia Development Bhd.
Rosmah, 66, was arrested after she finished giving her statement at 3.20pm, he said.
“You have to ask her yourself,” he said when asked how Rosmah was when she was arrested.
Kumaraendran and another lawyer, Geethan Ram Vincent, said they also did not know where Rosmah will spend the night tonight.
“You have to ask MACC that. We only know that she will be charged in the KL courts tomorrow,” said Kumaraendran.
Earlier today, Rosmah arrived at 10.40am for her third round of questioning by MACC.
After more than 4½ hours of questioning, she was arrested at 3.20pm.
MACC, in a statement, said she will be charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court at 8am tomorrow.
The anti-graft agency, however, did not specify the number or nature of charges against her.
Her husband, Najib Razak, was slapped with four counts of corruption under the MACC Act and 21 charges under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act on September 20. – October 3, 2018.
