Passenger captures panic as plane skids off runway in Philippines
A PASSENGER filmed the dramatic moment a plane “crash landed” at Manila international airport in Philippines early Friday and skidded off the runway.
Pirro, who is from Shanghai, was travelling on-board the China Xiamen Airlines MF8667 flight and started to film on her mobile phone as the plane came in to land.
The plane had circled Manila for about an hour before landing during a heavy storm.
As the Boeing 737-800 touched down it is clear something goes wrong. The screen goes black but the audio captures the panic and confusion among passengers.
All 157 passengers and eight crew members were evacuated from the plane. Footage from the scene shows the plane sitting lopsided in the grass with an engine appearing detached from the left wing.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Runways at the airport were closed and several flights cancelled while many inbound flights were diverted to other airports located in Clark, Pampanga and Cebu City. – Ruptly, August 17, 2018.
