Yoga with Kareena EP4: The Cat and Cow

SINCE technology has become an indispensable part of daily life, we often find ourselves bending over our mobile devices and computers all day long, whether it be for work, study or play. It’s no wonder then that so many of us experience pain in our necks.

In The Cat and Cow, Kareena walks us through the effects of phone and computer usage, offering tips on how to prevent further stress on the neck muscles.

She introduces three poses to counteract tension in the shoulders - the cat pose, cow pose and threading the needle - which her assistant, Jaime, demonstrates on the yoga mat.

Kareena combines the sequence with the Kapalbhati breathing technique which is characterised by a series of sharp exhales. The name translates to “shining skull” as it is believed that a shiny forehead or crown is a sign of good health.

This sequence can be done while sitting down on a chair. It’s a quick and easy way to loosen up the muscles and rejuvenate the mind and body. - February 14, 2018.
