Expressing the Muslim faith in modest fashion

FROM “burqini” swimwear to elegant red-carpet dresses, a new generation of Muslim designers and entrepreneurs are making their mark on the Australian fashion industry.

The “Faith Fashion Fusion: Muslim women’s style in Australia” exhibition, which launched last week at the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia, explores the growing popularity of modest wear for the modern Muslim woman.

This is the first showcase outside Australia and features different styles of modest wear.

Visitors will also be able to see a collection of traditional Malay women’s clothing from the museum’s archives.

Catch “Faith Fashion Fusion” at the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia until January 28, 2018. – November 12, 2017.
