Malaysia's favourite burger

A&W MAY have introduced the first fast food burger to Malaysia in 1963, but it was in 1984 when Ramly was founded that a Malaysian burger was born.

The cheap and cheerful street burger has since joined the ranks of nasi lemak as one of Malaysia’s many favourite foods.

In the face of competition from fast food joints and homegrown gourmet brands, how are the nation’s roadside burger stalls faring against trendy flavours like the nasi lemak and Korean-inspired burgers?

The Malaysian Insight visited three different Ramly stalls to find out. – August 16, 2017.
