PAKATAN Harapan is worse than Umno as it has been dropping cases against those in its fold, said PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.

“There were menteris besar and minister who were charged and jailed during Umno’s 60-year rule.

“But under Pakatan Harapan, which has only ruled for a few months, court cases are being dropped.

“They have ruled for just four months and there are these problems. What would happen if they ruled for 60 years? They are worse than Umno,” Hadi said during his keynote speech at the opening of the Dewan Himpunan Penyokong PAS (DHPP) in Gong Badak, Terengganu, today.

Hadi was alluding to Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng’s corruption case in the Penang High Court that was dropped on September 3.

Lim was charged with corruption in 2016 for buying a bungalow in Penang for below market price from his former landlady, Phang Li Khoon.

The decision to withdraw the case was made by deputy public prosecutor Mohamad Hanafiah Zakaria.

Since the general election, PAS and Umno have begun working together more closely. In the Sg Kandis and Seri Setia by-elections, the traditional rivals had campaigned for one another.

Although the cooperation has yet to be formalised, PAS had already promised to support Umno campaign’s in the upcoming Port Dickson by-election.

  • An unexpected change of govt after 61 years was never going to be easy, much baggage (e.g. 1MDB matters & over a RM1 trillion debts left behind has to be looked into & cleared). Worse, the Barisan govt badly damaged Malaysia's good administrative system left behind by the British, allowing in corrupt practices & rampant inefficiency and mediocrity. Need I say much more, to educate PAS, with its dog-in-the manger narrow outlook and attitude? What a messed up thinking by PAS & BN..
