Deputy home minister's ex-aide arrested over upskirt video

POLICE have arrested the sacked aide of Deputy Home Minister Azis Jamman who was caught on tape taking an upskirt video of an optician.

Kuala Lumpur police chief commissioner Mazlan Lazim said the man was picked up at 1pm today at a restaurant in the city.

“The 47-year-old Malay man was arrested at a restaurant in Kuala Lumpur to assist with investigation,” he said in a statement today.

Authorities are investigating him under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting a person’s modesty.

If found guilty, the former aide can be jailed up to five years or be subjected to a fine, or both.

He also is being investigated under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act for insulting behaviour which carries a RM100 fine.

Azis yesterday sacked the aide over the incident.

On Saturday, the man was caught on CCTV using his smartphone to take an upskirt video of a female worker at an optometry shop in a shopping complex in Kuala Lumpur.

In the short clip, the man was seated next to Azis who was having his eyes tested by the woman.

A video clip of the incident has gone viral on social media. – September 10, 2018.

  • Muslim ladies are generally decently dressed. Should others follow suit, and a law be passed to this effect?..

  • Did some of us come from huge countries only to corrupt & pollute the poor, accommodating, & innocent Malays & a small land like Malaysia? Whatever the faults or shortcomings of Malays (like our own bigger faults as our uncouth behaviour sometimes shows) we must be thankful they shared power with us via MCA and MIC to be citizens here, & so we must make every effort to show gratitude, understand their ways & help the poorer majority along to improve economically. Only then can our stay here be justified/vindicated?..
