Dr Mahathir demands proof of plot with Daim to stop Anwar from becoming PM

DR Mahathir Mohamad today challenged his accusers to back their claims with proof that he and his adviser, Daim Zainuddin are working to prevent Anwar Ibrahim from becoming the next prime minister. and wish to stop PKR president Anwar Ibrahim from becoming prime minister. 

“They should ask the person who started the allegation to prove it,” said Dr Mahathir, after attending the cabinet’s special committee meeting on anti-corruption, in Putrajaya. 

The prime minister, who is the Bersatu chairman, said he was not one to meddle in another party’s affairs.

Dr Mahathir was responding to PKR leaders claiming he and Daim were plotting to stop PKR president Anwar from becoming the next PM.

PKR leaders aligned to Rafizi Ramli, who is challenging Azmin Ali for the PKR deputy presidency, have claimed of such a plot.
 
Last night, Ijok assemblyman Dr Idris Ahmad said Dr Mahathir and Daim had “sponsored” some PKR leaders to destroy the party from within.

 “I know Dr Mahathir’s evil character, (and he has) Daim’s help. Do not believe them. See how Dr Mahathir and Daim used our leaders in PKR as their puppets to bring down the party,” he said during a campaign event in Ayer Keroh, Malacca.

Rafizi’s supporters have based their campaigns for their man on the premise that giving Azmin the deputy presidency was tantamount to stopping Anwar from being the next prime minister. 

Earlier today, Kapar MP Abdullah Sani said he had proof that there was a conspiracy to bar Anwar from the prime minister’s office.

“Once I am done visiting the respective states, I will be able to show proof that there are such people, outside forces, who have been trying to stall Anwar’s smooth transition to the prime minister’s office,” said Abdullah, who had previously named Daim as the person behind such a plot.

Bersatu Supreme Council member Wan Saiful Wan Jan, meanwhile, has urged PKR leaders to take a firm stance against members who malign the heads of other PH component parties.

“PKR’s top leadership should be firm in this matter. They need to prove that they don’t agree with such behaviour otherwise they will be seen as condoning slander,” he said in a statement today. – August 13, 2018.

  • Rafizi is losing a lot of his hard earned credibility by either encouraging or indulging the loose talkers supporting him. He should put a stop to this nonsense.

  • PKR is a party that have more of the bad DNAs of Umno. Loose mouth, loose cannon, self serving and saboteurs are their orders of the day in any PKR operations. Infact only for a few, most of the PKR leaders are just mediocre in any aspect of capabilities and abilities let alone academics credentials. No much of a difference between Umno yes men bootlickers except less thuggish but could be so when the calling comes. Anwar is the 'X' factor that leads to all these unwarranted suspicions and any tinnie weenie bit of dissatisfactions the hard core bootlickers will stirr shits to gain attention not sparring even the "kitchen sinks" to be thrown. Anwar himself has to diffuse the situation for he has more to loose if PKR as a party were disunited. A non cohesive party will gnaw his influence and will defnitely weaken the party for long haul play. Right now he is still a leader and do command respect to check any usurpers. A strong voice from him will definitely stamp out any heavy intense rivalry to break up the party. OR is it his intentions to see not a Rafizi / Azmin partnership being realized , which could see him taking an early retirement from politics. It is of no loss to the old man if PKR goes down as it is not his doing but the internal bickering in PKR caused by the lack of undertsanding for the love of a party and respect for one another. Too much greed and self serving party members playing to a the tune that is badly conducted.

  • Rafizi will be the PKRs breakup & PHs downfall if Anwar is going to be silent about this. I think Rafizi, initially thought to be a prodigy of sorts, now is becoming a threat and a nuisance. There is no room for his style of politics. You dont put a bumiputera/Malay down for the sake of your benefit. The last thIng you want to do Is accuse

    His campaign should focus on what he can bring to the PHs table when he becomes deputy president of PKR.
