RAFIZI Ramli’s 20 Years of Reformasi campaign is not only targeting opponents within PKR, but also Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and government adviser Daim Zainuddin.
Ijok assemblyman Dr Idris Ahmad, a member of Rafizi’s camp, said Dr Mahathir and Daim have “sponsored” some leaders in the party, to destroy PKR from within.
Without mentioning names, he said “certain leaders” in PKR got lucky when Anwar Ibrahim was fired as deputy prime minister and jailed during Dr Mahathir’s first turn as prime minister.
“They got approved permits, their businesses flourished. They got help from hidden hands.
“Who are these people? They are traitors to PKR. Think about it,” he told a crowd of some 300 party members.
He urged the 800,000 PKR members nationwide to recognise their friends and foes in the party, and to vote wisely in the polls next month.
“We need to know who our friends are, and who wants to destroy the party from within,” said Idris, who is contesting a PKR central leadership post and was previously tipped to replace Mohamed Azmin Ali as Selangor menteri besar.
Wong Chen, who is eyeing a vice-president’s post, said candidates in Rafizi’s team do not own “excessive” assets.
“Every candidate has declared his or her assets, and we are anti-corruption. There is nothing to hide.”
He said when he was a corporate lawyer, he was able to own two cars.
“But, our opponents have up to seven or eight cars. Also, my house is not (big) like Disneyland.”
Another PKR central leadership candidate, G. Manivannan, said there are those in the party attempting to thwart plans to make president-elect Anwar the nation’s eighth prime minister.
Malacca was the third state visited by the 20 Years of Reformasi team. It has six PKR branches, with membership estimated at 23,500.
State PKR chairman Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin last month said Malacca PKR fully supported the Anwar-Azmin combination to lead the party.
PKR vice-president Rafizi is up against incumbent Azmin for the deputy presidency. Since Friday, Rafizi’s team has travelled to Johor, Negri Sembilan and Malacca to campaign.
Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar, who is looking to defend her vice-president’s post, was not present at the events in the three states. She has appeared in posters supporting Rafizi in his bid for the party’s No. 2 post. – August 13, 2018.

If Anwar lets it be, he is perceived as a weak leader and maybe doesnt deserve to be the next PM, after all.
Rafizi is a good and resourceful asset but his campaign for the deputy position of PKR maybe getting over his head, and making unwarranted statements against the sitting PM is immature of him and definitely not healthy for PKR and the coalition, PH!
Anwar, control your pit bull before it does any harm.
