ALMOST all of the opposition’s allegations about the prime minister’s wife Rosmah Mansor is false, said special officer to the prime minister, Rizal Mansor.

Malaysiakini today reported Rizal’s denial that Rosmah controlled Prime Minister Najib Razak and that she had an office in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Rizal told the Kelana Jaya Umno Youth meeting today the said office had existed during the time of Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, but was removed when Najib took charge.

“Yes, the office of the prime minister’s wife existed in the PMO during the tenures of the fourth and fifth prime ministers, but during Najib’s era, the office is no longer there and Rosmah has never stepped into it.

“Why? Because Rosmah said she does not need the office; because she doesn’t want to go to the office;  she doesn’t like to go to the office,” said Rizal.

He said the Prime Minister’s Wife’s Office was located next to the prime minister’s working space and it was where the spouses of foreign dignitaries were ushered into during state visits.

Rosmah preferred to receive the guests at the PM’s official residence,  Seri Perdana, said Rizal.

He said Rosmah visited the PMO twice a year only – to attend the birthday party that the staff threw for Najib, and when the PMO hosted its open house. – July 23, 2017.

  • That may be the proof that Rosmah cares about what people think about her controlling Najib, and that she chooses to do it by remote control.
