MOHAMAD Sabu said Najib Razak can poke fun at his cooking but the former prime minister can be assured he will not steal government money.

The defence minister was responding to Najib, who recently said the politician better known as Mat Sabu was only good at cooking, during a ceramah in Sg Kandis last night.

“But when I go to the Ministry of Defence, I don’t cook. I’m the defence minister. But he’s the one with RM114 million in his house,” he said, referring to the police seizure in May.

Mat Sabu said Najib should repent for his past misdeed.

“When he attacks me in Parliament, I will reply in Parliament. But when he attacks me outside, I will reply outside,” said Mat Sabu to cheers from some 700 Jalan Kebun residents who had gathered for the Pakatan Harapan ceramah.

He told the crowd that Deputy Home Minister Mohd Azis Jamman assured Parliament that the government will track down businessman Low Taek Jo, better known as Jho Low down.

“We will find him until the ends of the earth. Until we find him, we will never know the full extent of the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal,” said the Amanah president.

Mat Sabu, who spoke after PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim’s first appearance in the Sg Kandis campaign, said life is funny.

“There are those who go to jail first and then become ministers. And then there are those who go to prison and then become ministers before getting jailed again. But he (Anwar) will soon become the next prime minister.

“But the worst is for those who are minister and prime minister first before getting jailed. And that is the worst, as it will be the end of his legacy.”

Mat Sabu was pitching for PKR candidate Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni in the three-cornered by-election against Barisan Nasional’s Lokman Noor Adam and independent K. Murthy in the Sg Kandis by-election on Saturday. – August 1, 2018.
