FORMER Umno Supreme Council member Mohd Razlan Muhammad Rafii was roasted by Twitter users after he mocked the death of DAP assemblyman Ng Tien Chee, who died in a road accident early today.

“A liar and a person with an evil heart towards Malaysians has died!!! One fewer liar! A more peaceful Malaysia!! RIP,” tweeted Razlan at 6.53am today.

Tagged to his tweet was international trade deputy minister Dr Ong Kian Ming’s post dedicated to Ng, the Balakong assemblyman.

Ong tweeted “RIP my comrade and friend. I will miss the sound of your laughter and smile”.

No DAP supporter appears to have responded to Razlan’s tweet but he was condemned by Malay Twitter users who scolded him for shaming Islam and advised him to delete the tweet.

“What an ugly Muslim you are. Even the Prophet himself showed respect when a funeral procession of Jews passed in front of him,” said user Miss Hope.

“You have shamed Islam and the Malays,” said a Farhan Yunus.

“No wonder Umno lost many seats in KL,” said another user, Fahmi Yusry.

This is not Razlan’s first brush with DAP.

In 2014, the Umno Federal Territory Youth chief gained notoriety when he led a group of Umno protesters to the DAP headquarters in Kuala Lumpur and threatened to burn the building for insulting the Malay party.

More recently, Razlan also warned Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Amar Singh Ishar Singh to stop issuing statements about the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal as it would affect former Umno president Najib Razak.

Ng, popularly called Eddie, was killed in a car accident at 12.40am after his Nissan X-Trail rammed into the rear of a lorry on the Cheras-Kajang road.

The 40-year-old two-term assemblyman was believed to be going home after attending a dinner. Ng is survived by a wife and three teenagers.

When contacted by Malaysiakini, Razlan said he had still wished “rest in peace” to Ng in his tweet.

He said he had no intention of insulting Ng but added that the deceased had accused former prime minister Najib Razak and Umno members of being thieves.

“There is no truth to those words (Ng’s). Then I wished for him to rest in peace”,” Razlan said. – July 20, 2018.
