THE weekly cabinet meeting held on Wednesday will be moved to Friday when Parliament is in session, said Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Nga Kor Ming.

He said he has been informed by his colleagues in the administration that the decision is effective immediately.

“I have been informed about the decision, and I think it is a good move by the government, as due respect should be given to Parliament.

“For me, personally, I think if a minister cannot attend, at least the deputy minister can take over,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.

Yesterday, several opposition MPs had pointed out the absence of ministers and deputy ministers during the afternoon sitting. – Bernama, July 19, 2018.
