DR Mahathir Mohamad is looking to move cabinet meetings to Friday while Parliament is in session, following criticism by the opposition.

The prime minister said he will try and accommodate the request as he does not want ministers missing from sessions.

“Yes, we are looking into it. We may have to do it on Friday,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.

Former youth and sports minister Khairy Jamaluddin has flayed Pakatan Harapan for not holding cabinet meetings on Friday, as was done when Barisan Nasional was in power.

“This was the practice of the previous government. When Parliament is in session, cabinet meetings are held on Friday.

“When Parliament ends, the meetings can be held on Wednesday, according to convention,” he tweeted yesterday. – July 19, 2018.
