Vigneswaran appointed new MIC president

S.A. Vigneswaran has been officially named the new president of MIC after winning the top post at the party polls today.

The Dewan Negara speaker won the post uncontested after receiving a total of 1,808 nominations.

Vigneswaran, who is a also a former vice-president, takes over the leadership of the party from Dr S. Subramaniam.

The former health minister lost the Segamat parliamentary seat in the 14th general election. – July 14, 2018.

  • Only time will tell if the defeated components of the BN can shake off their losses, reinvent themselves and if politically viable, distance themselves from the racist demagogues in Umno. There is a place for them in Malaysian politics if they persist and are sincere in their efforts.
