NAJIB Razak pleaded not guilty to all four charges at the Kuala Lumpur High Court today.

The former prime minister was earlier charged at the Sessions Court with three counts of criminal breach of trust under the Penal Code, and one count of misusing his position, a charge under the MACC Act.

Najib merely nodded his head when a court official read out that “the accused pleads not guilty and has requested to be tried”.

Attorney-general Tommy Thomas said although these were non-bailable offences, the prosecution had not objections to bail being offered by the court.

Thomas then requested that bail be set at RM4 million in two sureties and that the accused surrender his passport.

Najib’s lawyer, Shafee Abdullah, said Najib was not a flight risk and that the bail should be a more reasonable amount.

“(There was) a very mischievous rumour that my client went to Langkawi and that he was about to fly off.

“He is not a flight risk. Bail is not meant to punish. The reason for bail is to secure attendance in court. There has never been any suggestion that my client is a flight risk.” – July 4, 2018.

  • A devil wearing the specially man made Prada robes of a saint. When he is found guilty the rakyat will request for him to be hung upside down high and dry where his smile will be a reverse feature of anguish. A sick devil !!!!!!!!!!!

  • If they were non-bailable offences, he authorities tshould have left it at that. Allowing bail is somewhat tantamount to granting him favours.

  • Non-bailable offences but bailed? At least put a tracker on him.
