Zeti starts work at PNB today

NEW Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) chief Zeti Akhtar Aziz will be meeting her new colleagues for the first time this afternoon.

“I’m honoured. I look forward to working with them for the sustainability of their performance as well as their contribution to the overall economy.

“I’m going to be meeting them for the first time this afternoon,” Zeti told reporters as she was leaving Ilham Tower today.

The former central bank governor sits on the five-member Council of Eminent Persons panel.

She said she is still part of the temporary council set up by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to help the new Pakatan Harapan government implement reforms and fulfill its election promises.

“Yes, there is still plenty of work to be done,” said Zeti.

The council has less than 50 days left to complete their tasks.

Zeti, who turns 70 this year, was announced as the new PNB chairman replacing former minister Abdul Wahid Omar effective July 1. – July 2, 2018.

  • The first thing she must do is ....... request Azmin to SACK the EPF fund managers and replace them with PNB's such that we, the EPF members, receive returns like ASB. All the while, EPF returns are LESS than ASB's!!!
