13 ministers, 23 deputies sworn in

13 ADDITIONAL ministers were sworn in today before Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V.

The ceremony was held at Istana Negara and attended by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife Dr Siti Hasmah Ali.

Among the new appointments were Pakatan Harapan secretary-general Saifuddin Abdullah, who was appointed foreign minister, Khalid Samad as federal territories minister, and Mohamad Din Ketapi as tourism minister.

Others sworn in today were Dr Xavier Jayakumar as natural resources and environment minister, Baru Bian as works minister, Teresa Kok as primary industries minister, Darell Leiking as international trade minister, Redzuan Yusof as entrepreneur and co-operative minister and Saifuddin Nasution Ismail as domestic trade minister.

The two youngest ministers were Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman (Youth & Sports) and Yeo Bee Yin (Energy, Green Technology, Science and Climate Change).

Ministers appointed to the Prime Minister’s Department include Mujahid Yusof Rawa and Liew Vui Keong.

Also appointed were 23 deputy ministers. – July 2, 2018.

    • Are all selected based on their honesty, integrity, capabilities, competencies, etc? I suspect NOT!!!! Many are rewarded based on their LOYALTY to certain leaders, like BN!!!!!

  • As I mentioned before, though PKR prided itself as multi-racial, yet with less than half of its elected parliament candidates Malay, all but two are Malay cabinet ministers. Of the two, one was rewarded for being GaL1 (Goon and Lackey no. 1) and the other a tokenism to Sabah/Sarawak. Are the rest of the non-Malays not qualified or is PKR behaving like UMNO towards MCA and MIC?
