THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has not called Felda Global Venture Holdings Bhd (FGV) chairman Mohd Isa Abdul Samad to record his statement yet. 

Speaking to reporters today, MACC commissioner Dzulkifli Ahmad said Isa would only be called up if there was need.

“It depends on the development of the case,” he said, after the handing out 2,500 packets of bubur lambuk to the Meru community at the As-Syarif Mosque in Meru, Klang this evening.

He said the investigation was now 60% completed.

MACC launched an investigation into alleged power abuse and corruption in FGV after its chief operating officer Zakaria Arshad and three other senior company executives were suspended pending an internal audit on deals between FGV subsidiary Delima Oil Products Sdn Bhd, and Afghan company Safitex.
 
Zakaria responded with allegations of graft and corporate wrongdoing in FGV, and was subsequently interviewed by the MACC for six hours in Putrajaya.

MACC launched a probe shortly afterwards and raided the FGV head office last week, where they confiscated boxes of company files and documents.

Two days ago, the FGV board handed Zakaria and FGV chief financial officer Ahmad Tifli Mohd Talha show-cause letters. The duo have seven days to answer the charges. 

Meanwhile, government appointed troubleshooter Idris Jala wrapped up his fact-finding mission yesterday.
