SOCIAL media users congratulated PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli after his 18-month jail term for leaking the 1MDB audit report was set aside today.
Taking a leave from the Court of Appeal’s two-year good behaviour bond judgment, some social media users also asked the Invoke founder to stop attacking Pakatan Harapan chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
“Congrats @rafiziramli, but please don’t overtweet,” wrote a Twitter user Ejato_Hajar.
“Don’t be naughty. Have to be on good behaviour. The Court ordered. Huhuhuhu,” said another user Adly Ismail.
“Congratulations to #rafiziramli. Relax and uphold the tranquility of unifying PH without stirring up ripples that will only splash on everyone’s face including oneself and all Malaysians,” said Ram AJ.
Rafizi came under fire from the public barely three weeks ago for accusing Dr Mahathir of not consulting PKR over cabinet appointments.
The former Pandan MP refused to apologise and insisted he had a right to criticise Dr Mahathir and speak up for his party.
He also told The Malaysian Insight widespread resentment over bread-and-butter issues, not Dr Mahathir’s popularity, was the main cause that led to Barisan Nasional’s shocking defeat in the May 9 elections.
Other social media users expressed hope that Rafizi’s 30-month jail sentence for exposing the National Feedlot Centre scandal will also be dropped.
“Congrats @rafiziramli hopefully the other charges will also be dropped. Enjoy your victory with Ben (Rafizi’s son) and family. You will always have our support. Keep on fighting!” wrote Jufitri Abd Halim.
“Syabas and hopefully no more politically motivated dirty tactics to stop your work to help change Malaysia,” said Jonathan Cheah.
“Really happy for you. My wife and I were praying,” said Krisnanurthy K.
Other lawmakers, including Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh and Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar, also congratulated Rafizi on Facebook. – June 1, 2018.
