THE Energy Commission will summon representatives from Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) regarding the electrocution of a 12-year-old boy at a TNB substation in Sri Bayu, Bayan Lepas, Penang.

In a statement today, the commission said TNB would assist in the investigation to identify the cause of the incident.

In the November 16 incident, the media reported the victim suffered burns all over after touching electrical equipment at a TNB substation, which he entered to retrieve a ball.

The commission said if any negligence or wrongdoing was found by any party, legal action would be taken under the Electricity Supply Act 1990 and the Electricity Regulations 1994. – Bernama, November 23, 2023.
