A FORMER aide to Anwar Ibrahim – Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak – has refuted claims made by Bersatu’s Wan Ahmad Fayshal Wan Ahmad Kamal that he was responsible for attracting the support of opposition lawmakers to the prime minister.

In a statement, Farhash said he is no longer active in politics and is currently a businessman.

“Wan Fayhsal has claimed there are allegedly two individuals responsible for attracting the support for Anwar, either through bribes and/or threats.

“According to Wan Fayhsal, they are supposedly a person known as ‘Datuk Botak’, and the prime minister’s former political secretary, which is me.

“First of all, I deny the slanderous accusations. I do not have any knowledge of claims by Wan Fayhsal,” said Farhash.

“Through Wan Fayhsal’s press conference, it is clear I have been used as a tool to spread rumours for his own benefit.

“I do not understand why Wan Fayhsal has hurled such slander with the intention of bringing down my reputation for his political interests,” Farhash continued.

Speaking further, Farhash will lodge a police report so that further investigation and action can be taken against the Machang MP.

“I also reserve my right to file a defamation lawsuit against him,” he said.

Wan Fayhsal previously claimed there were viral videos supporting his allegations.

The four rogue Bersatu MPs who pledged support for Anwar are Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar), Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan), Mohd Azizi Abu Naim (Gua Musang) and Zahari Kechik (Jeli).

Iskandar and Suhaili have already been suspended from Bersatu for four and six years respectively, while the other two have been referred to the party’s disciplinary committee. – November 14, 2023.
