THE Prison Department said in conjunction with Deepavali, families of inmates, including those at moral rehabilitation centres, special rehabilitation centres, special detention centres and Henry Gurney schools, would be allowed visits on November 14 and 15.

In a statement today, the department said priority would be given to Hindu inmates for either in-person or online visits.

“In-person visits will be on November 14 and 15 from 8.15am to 4.15pm, while online visits will be from November 16 to 18,” it said.

The department said inmates would be allowed only one in-person or online visit from their families, who can make appointments via the i-Visit system, phone, email or letter to the detention facility.

It said in-person visitors must do a Covid-19 test at least three days before their visit, and they must be asymptomatic on the day. – Bernama, November 6, 2023.
