THREE people were hurt at Megah Rise Mall when its ceiling collapsed during a heavy downpour this afternoon, The Star reported.

The mall, in a statement posted to Facebook, said it has launched an investigation.

“We regret to inform you that the ceiling of the car porch in front of the Megah Rise Mall entrance collapsed during strong winds and heavy downpours this afternoon at approximately 3pm, resulting in three minor injuries.

“We are investigating the cause of the incident and are taking immediate action to manage and address the situation.

“Our top priority is the safety and wellbeing of our community,” the statement said.

Megah Rise Mall said it would remain open, with the affected area cordoned off. – October 28, 2023.
