FORMER inspector-general of police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani has been named Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Bhd (PUNB) chairman effective immediately.

He replaces Ahmad Nazlan Idris who stepped down from the position on December 20 last year.

PUNB chief executive officer Izwan Zainuddin, in a statement today, said Acryl Sani’s extensive experience would contribute towards the development of Bumiputera entrepreneurs in the country.

Acryl Sani is also a non-executive independent director and deputy chairman for Dagang NeXchange Bhd, an IT services provider.

The ex-top cop left the force in June, three months before completing his contract, saying he had received offers from the corporate sector.

He was due for mandatory retirement upon turning 60 in 2021 and was placed on a two-year contract from October 4, 2021 to Oct 3 this year.

Acryl Sani served as the 13th IGP from May 4, 2021 to June 22, 2023, succeeding Abdul Hamid Bador. – September 1, 2023.
