PERBADANAN Usahawan Nasional Bhd (PUNB) has sought a higher allocation of RM200 million next year under the 2021 Budget from RM150 million this year to empower Bumiputera entrepreneurs.
The proposal was submitted to the government in April, chief executive officer Izwan Zainuddin said.
“We hope to get more allocation next year,” he told reporters after launching PUNB’s RM200 million Bumiputera Relief Financing (BRF).
PUNB has granted Mimoo Act Sdn Bhd an additional RM2 million financing to bring in more bag and luggage brands into Malaysia and for its plant refurbishment.
In 2018, the supplier of bag and luggage secured RM1 million funding from PUNB for its capital requirements and acquire stock.
